This cheese is almost 100 years old and it crossed the Andes on board a 1928 Zeppelin. Designed in 1900 by Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, these airships, which fascinated their contemporaries and regularly carried passengers, notably from one side of the Atlantic to the other, had a real kitchen and a restaurant. This is probably why this box was taken on board during a trip to South America in 1930.
