Glued to the underside of these three small Cacao-Gluten tablets linked by a string, a white label indicates ‘for display’, letting us know that they were not intended for consumption but for displaying Maggi products in shop windows. The small label threaded through the string bears the enigmatic handwritten inscription ‘S IV / 336 / et’. 

As the box of Cacao-Gluten cubes also shown here (see AL8015) indicates, these could be bought individually, at a price of 5c, to prepare ‘an excellent breakfast’.
