The kernel of culinary arts. Whether looking for inspiration, starting out, wishing to perfect your skills or simply to have a fantabulous time, the weekend culinary workshops give you the chance to roll up your sleeves and cook alongside a professional chef. We have a range of workshops for both novices and experts: Choose the one that tempts you and book your spot!

Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday

Saturdays:
​Time: from 15:00 to 18:00
​Price: CHF 80.00 per person
Age: from 16 years old

Sundays:
​Time: from 15:00 to 17:00
​Price: CHF 60.00 per person

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of each workshop. ​Online reservation essential. ​

This workshop will unveil the hidden charms of plants! Discover vegetables and herbs from our Garden, accompanied by a Museum chef. This is the perfect opportunity to find out more about their flavours and culinary properties. This workshop ends on a delicious note, with a cookery demonstration followed by the chance to sample several seasonal dishes.
Turn an afternoon into a gourmet experience! Let the charm of the season and our chef’s expertise inspire you to make delicious verrines. Whether sweet or savoury, they have one thing in common: They are all made with fresh produce! 
Set off with one of our chefs/activity leaders to meet local producers. Neighbouring butchers, greengrocers and cheesemakers will enthuse you as they present their profession and suggest quality products. After choosing the menu and carefully selecting the ingredients together, you then return to the Alimentarium kitchen to prepare a delicious dish, full of local, seasonal produce. At the end of the workshop, enjoy the opportunity to sample the meal you have created.
A unique workshop where you will learn all about meat, the issues it raises and the latest technology. Watch as our activity leader joints a piece of meat, explaining each stage of the process. You then use some of the cuts to create a dish to sample together at the end of the workshop.
